Growing up near our family farm in North Carolina, I
always enjoyed taking things apart, figuring out how
they work, and
putting them back together (most of the time). Once I
started school at Georgia Tech, I realized that I
enjoy the challenge of software development and find it
to be meaningful work.
I graduated from Tech in December of 2017 and started work
at NCR shortly thereafter. Currently I am a Software Engineer
on our Advanced Marketing Solution (AMS) product. Most of my work
is on our Promotion Engine and is done in C++. I occasionaly
do UI work on the web interface portion of our AMS suite as well
In my time at Tech, I was a member of the Beta
Psi Chapter of Sigma Chi, the Student Alumni
Association, GT Ducks Unlimited, and helped raise
money for the Huntsman Cancer Research Foundation. I
have participated in HackGT and was member of a team
that finished 3rd and 7th in two different Google
Games Atlanta competitions.
I keep myself busy outside of work by practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
BJJ is a great source of stress relief for me and keeps me active.
Competing in BJJ tournaments is demanding but it's a lot of fun and
very rewarding. I also love being outside, particularly if I'm hunting or fishing.
I try to read regularly but the list of things I want to read always
grows faster than I can get through books/comics.
